Case Study: Print On Demand

Problem: A client had been mailing to alumni groups in many small quantities. Due to the small lots, they were paying first-class postage. The client was seeking ways to reduce the cost of the program.

MCS Solution: MCS converted the program to a print-on-demand environment, with a weekly mailing. Multiple alumni groups were combined and mailed in one larger pre-sorted mailing. The alumni logo was automatically lasered so that pieces still had the same look. The closed-face envelope was converted to a double window so that the need for a match mail was eliminated, along with the need for a printed envelope for each alumnus.

This saved the client postage as well as production costs by eliminating match mail and lot charges.
